Charlestown, Cornwall. Sometime in the 1980′s, after last orders, we used to climb high into the rigging of Earl Of PembrokeKaskelot or whichever Tall Ship happened to be down in the Harbour at the time, to drink, smoke and talk with the riggers and crew. It’s where I’d first heard about a ‘cracked Granite boulder’. To see it would first mean getting to Oban. Over the interim 30+ years I’d managed to get within 30 miles on 4 occasions but still hadn’t quite made it. 

In 2011, a random cliff top conversation whilst drawing led to a text, which led to a telephone call and later that evening, out of the blue, an invitation
